Large Japanese Totai Shippo Tree Bark cloisonné vase, Meiji Period. The tall, mallet shaped vase, worked in copper wires, on a ceramic ground, with decoration of a bird perched amongst flowering plants, with insects flying around.
All upon a simulated tree bark ground.
Height – 47 cm, 18 1/2”.
Diameter – 20 cm, 7 7/8”.
Condition – Some typical wear to the glaze. No restoration.
