Japanese bronze elephant okimono, Maruki Company, Meiji Period. Typically, well observed, as an elephant engaging with a tiger, beneath its front left leg. The texture of the elephants skin is finely detailed, and also having the current benefit of having bronze tusks.
The tiger, trapped underfoot, with clear, patinated stripes.
Signed Maruki in a rectangular seal to the underside of the elephant.
Original carved wood stand.

Depth – 13.5 cm, 5 1/4”.
Condition – In excellent untouched condition.
