Coalport porcelain vase ‘Conwy Castle’, J.H.Plant, c. 1900.
A large Coalport porcelain vase, painted by John Hugh Plant, c. 1900. The vase, having large elaborately moulded gilt scroll handles, and set upon a circular pedestal foot.
Finely painted with a view of Conwy Castle, North Wales, within an oval gilt beaded panel, in turn surrounded by gilt floral and rococo scrollwork, upon a cobalt blue ground.
The reverse with a smaller, similar panel, painted with a Lakeland scene.
Signed to the panel, J.H. Plant.
Printed factory mark and painted pattern numbers to the underside of the base.
Height – 39.4 cm, 151/2”.
Width – 15.2 cm, 6”.
Depth – 13 cm, 5 1/8”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
