Meissen Porcelain Plate, Putti at Various Pursuits, circa 1870

A fine Meissen porcelain plate, circa 1870. Beautifully hand painted to the centre, with a scene of two Putti, amongst clouds. One Putti carrying flaming torches, the second holding a bunch of grapes. The border moulded and painted in Capo di Monte style, with a continuous band of Putti at various pursuits, including, unusually, playing golf.
Crossed swords mark in underglaze blue, and impressed number ‘44’ to the reverse.
Measures: Diameter 22.5cm, 8 7/8”.
Condition: Perfect. No damage. No restoration.
