Japanese Bronze Okimono of a Fisher Boy, Signed Maruki, Meiji Period

A fine Japanese bronze okimono, circa 1890, Meiji period. Cast as a young boy, carrying fishing net, and carefully making his way barefooted over rocks, in a river. He wears a short tunic, tied at the waist, with the fishing net in his right hand.
Signed in a seal to the rear of the figure.
Measures: Height 44 cm, 17 1/2”.
Width 29 cm, 11 3/8”.
Depth 22.5 cm, 8 7/8”.
