Japanese Boxwood Okimono of a ‘Rat Catcher’, Meiji Period

Japanese boxwood okimono, Meiji period (1868-1912). Well carved as ‘The Rat Catcher. The catcher crouched over his box, holding a club in his right hand, whilst having a look of horror on his face, as realizes that the large rat is running over his left shoulder.
Having a very good patination to the wood.
Measures: Height 9 cm, 3 1/2”.
Width 6.5 cm, 2 1/2”.
Depth 7.5 cm, 2 7/8”.
Condition: Age cracks to body, and right wrist. No repair.
