Yorkshire creamware child's mug ' A Present for Jacob'.


A Yorkshire creamware pottery child's mug, c. 1780. The miniature mug inscribed ' A Present for Jacob', within a stylised floral cartouche - painted in iron red & green. Sprigs of flowers to either side, & a maroon band to the rim.
Simple loop handle.
Probably made as a Christening present for 'Jacob'.

Medium: Earthenware - Creamware.

Height:  6.80 cm, 2.68"

Condition: Typical minor chips to the rim. Short glaze cracks to the base, which do not penetrate the body. Otherwise, in excellent condition. No restoration.
