Vienna porcelain tray. ‘Europa and the Bull’, c. 1870.

A large Vienna porcelain pierced tray, c. 1870. Hand painted to the centre with a panel of a mythological scene of Europa and the Bull, with attendants, within a Classical landscape, with putti flying above. Within an elaborately decorated border of gilt scrollwork, and Classical mask head panels. The rim heavily pierced and gilded.
Blue Beehive mark, and impressed number ‘35’ to the unglazed base.
Length - 37 cm, 14 5/8”.
Height - 29.5 cm, 11 5/8”.
Condition - Perfect. No restoration.
