Staffordshire pottery eagle, c. 1850.


A rare and large Staffordshire pottery figure, c. 1850. Well modelled as an eagle, perched upon a rocky outcrop, with its wings outstretched. The feathers well moulded, and heightened in black enamel, having a gilt crown. Having enamelled encrustation to the rocky outcrop, which is set upon a gilt lined shaped base.
Height - 19 cm, 7 1/2”.
Width - 10 cm, 4”.
Condition - Typical minor wear to the black enamel. No damage. No restoration.
