Staffordshire Creamware' Step' Toby Jug,


A good Staffordshire creamware ' Step' toby jug, c. 1780. Holding a slender foaming jug in his left hand, and a pipe to his mouth in his right hand. His jacket coloured in mottled green glazes, and brown lining to his trousers and waistcoat. The handle of the jug with acanthus leaf moulding, and thumb piece.

Condition: Two glaze chips to the front of the base. Otherwise in excellent condition. No restoration.
