Satsuma pottery vase & cover. Signed Senzan. Meiji Period.


A good Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase and cover, by Senzan. Meiji Period 1868-1912. The bell shaped vase, painted with school moulded panels of Geisha and boys studying. All upon alternating lobed panels of flower heads, and butterflies. The cover similarly decorated, and having a ball finial.
Signed Senzan to the base.
Height - 4", 9 cm.
Condition - Typical minor wear to the gilding. Otherwise perfect condition. No restoration.
