Satsuma pottery Koro & cover. Meiji Period.

A Satsuma pottery koro and cover, Meiji Period. Painted with a continuous scene of figures in a snowy river landscape, the main figures, wearing attire that is decorated in raised gilt, standing with attendants. Both the koro and cover decorated with lappet borders of textile motif. The cover having a Shi Shi dog finial - the koro standing upon three gilt decorated scroll feet.
Gilt signature to the base.

Medium: Earthenware.

Signed/Inscribed: Gilt signature to the base.

Condition: Some typical minor wear to the gilding. Otherwise in perfect condition.
