Royal Worcester porcelain figure ‘Bather’, dated 1919.


A rare Royal Worcester porcelain figure, dated 1919. Modelled as a ‘Seated nude bather’ upon a plinth, as though she were looking into a swimming pool. Stylised garlands of leafy foliage stretch over her and across the plinth.
Printed puce factory marks, and date code for 1919. Model number ‘2697’. Registration number ‘66347, to the base.
Height - 19 cm, 7 1/2”.
Width - 11.5 cm, 4 1/2”.
Depth - 8 cm, 3 1/8”.
Condition - Perfect. No damage. No restoration.

Literature: In ‘The Sandon Guide to Royal Worcester Figures, 1900 -1970’, the Sandons refer to this figure as being ‘Rare’. It was introduced between 1917- 1918, and withdrawn by 1930.
A similar example is illustrated, Plate 16, page 155.
