Rare Lowestoft porcelain cider jug.


An extremely rare and unrecorded Lowestoft porcelain cider jug, c. 1770. Hand painted in blue with a continuous river landscape of buildings on islands, in Chinese taste. The rim painted with scrolls and floral swags.
The blue tinged glaze shrunken in areas to reveal a light brown body.

Condition: Section of spout lacking, and chip to base of handle. Otherwise in perfect condition. No restoration.
