Pair Worcester porcelain Blue Scale, 'Jabberwocky' pattern vases.


A fine pair of Worcester porcelain vases, c. 1770. The Blue Scale ground vases, painted in Japanese Kakiemon taste, with the 'Jabberwocky' pattern, of exotic birds amongst flowering plants, and the 'Jabberwocky' in flight; within elaborately gilded scrollwork panels. Both vases having gilded 'C' scroll handles.
Blue hatched square marks to the underside of both vases.
Height - 13 cm, 5 1/8".
Condition - Tight hairline crack to one neck. Otherwise in excellent condition. No restoration.

Medium: Porcelain.

Signed/Inscribed: Blue hatched square, in underglaze blue.
