Pair Wedgwood black basalt plaques depicting Hercules.


A fine pair of Wedgwood black basalt plaques of good size, c. 1800. Decorated in deep relief with depictions of 'Hercules strangling the Nemean Lion' and 'Hercules and the Erynanthian Boar'.
Impressed WEDGWOOD in raised capitals to both plaques.
Height - 7 2/8", 18.5 cm.
Condition - Lion plaque is in perfect condition. The Boar plaque has a chip to the reverse, and crack to the front - please see images for details.
