Pair Derby biscuit porcelain figures. The French Seasons, after Boucher.

An exceptionally fine pair of Derby biscuit porcelain figures, ' The French Seasons', c. 1790.
Modelled after Tournai originals, based on designs by Boucher. Winter modelled as a young boy, wrapped in a fur and carrying faggots, Autumn as a girl with a cornsheaf.
Both figures standing upon grassy mound bases, with rocks and flowers, and set upon circular bases.
Incised Crowned 'D' and crossed batons marks. Numbered No. 123, and other marks to the bases.

Condition - Firing cracks to the underside of the base of the girl. Typical, very minor chips to flowers and leaves. Otherwise in excellent condition. No restoration.
Height - 9¾ in. 24.7 cm

Signed/Inscribed: Incised factory marks, model number No. 123, and various other marks.

Condition: Firing cracks to the base of the girl. Typical, minor wChips to leaves and flowers. Otherwise in perfect condition. No restoration.
