Meissen porcelain Putti as a gardener, c. 1870.


Meissen porcelain figure group, c. 1870. Well modelled as a Putti digging in a garden. He stands before a tree stump, with a rake resting against the stump. To his right are two plants growing in pots. All on a grassy mound base, with a heavy, gilt moulded rococo scroll border.
Underglaze blue crossed swords mark, and incised ‘C100’, to the base.
Height - 12 cm, 4 3/4”.
Length - 12.5 cm, 4 7/8”.
Condition - Excellent condition. No damage. No restoration.

Medium: Porcelain.

Signed/Inscribed: Underglaze blue crossed swords, and incised ‘C100’ to the base.
