Meissen porcelain 'Purpurmalerei' coffee pot.


A Meissen porcelain coffee pot & cover, c. 1740. The silver shaped baluster shaped pot with wishbone handle, having shell thumb piece & acanthus reminals, scroll moulded spout. Painted in 'Purpurmalerei, with two large sprays of flowers, interspersed with smaller sprigs of flowers.
The domed lid similarly decorated, and having a flower bud finial.
Base left unglazed, and having an incised 'N'.
Blurred Crossed Swords Mark to the base of the handle.

Medium: Porcelain.

Signed/Inscribed: Underglaze blue Crossed Swords mark to the base of the handle.

Height:  23 cm, 9.06"

Condition: Very minor, typical chips to the finial. Otherwise in perfect condition. No restoration.
