Meissen porcelain basket. ‘Onion Pattern’, c. 1880.


A large Meissen porcelain basket, c. 1880. The rococo shaped basket, pierced to simulate basket weave, encrusted with flowers issuing from twig handles, and standing upon twig feet. Painted to the centre with the ‘Onion Pattern’, and further scroll panels of flowers around the basket.
Crossed swords mark in underglaze blue. Incised number.
Length - 37 cm, 14 1/2”.
Height - 13 cm, 5 1/8”.
Width - 22.3 cm, 8 3/4”.
Condition - Perfect. No damage. No restoration.
