Meissen figure of a vegetable seller, modelled by J.F. Eberlein.


A fine Meissen porcelain figure of a vegetable seller, modelled by J.E. Eberlein, c. 1745. Standing, barefoot, and supported by a rocky outcrop on a circular mound base, applied with flowers. She wears a wide brimmed straw hat, a yellow bodice over a dress decorated in Indianische Blumen'. In her apron she carries various root vegetables, whilst she carries an artichoke in her right hand.
Unglazed base, with blow hole.
Height - 7", 17.8 cm.
Condition - Right hand re attached. Minute chip to stem of one vegetable. Otherwise in perfect condition.
