Leeds creamware mug 'Sarah White, Horbrey, 1787'.


A Leeds Pottery creamware mug, dated 1787. Well painted with an inscription in iron red -' Sarah White, Horbrey, Born March 31. 1787'. Sprays of flowers painted to either side, beneath a yellow lined pink swag, with blue tassels around the rim. Having a simple loop handle enamelled in puce with an ermine motif.
'Horbrey' is probably Horbury near Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
Height - 5", 12.7 cm.
Condition - Typical minor wear to the enamels. Otherwise in perfect condition. NO damage. NO restoration.
