Japanese shishi seal netsuke. Edo Period, c.1800.

A Japanese ivory seal netsuke, c. 1800, Edo Period. Beautifully carved as an amusing looking Shishi, seated upon an oval base. The underside of the base carved with a Japanese symbol 寅 Tora [Tiger]. Presumably representing one of the Zodiac years.
Height - 4.3 cm, 1 6/8".
Condition - Perfect. No damage. No repair.
