A good Japanese Kajikawa School, lacquer five case inro, c. 1800. Edo Period. Finely decorated in varied layers of gilt lacquer, with a scene of flowering plants, growing in a river bank. The plants having carved mother of pearl flowerheads. All upon a black lacquer ground.
Having an amber bead ojme.
Signed - 梶川作 Kajikawa saku {Made by Kajikawa} with a red pot seal 英"Ei".
Total length - 9cm, 3 1/2".
Condition - Typical minor wear to the lacquer. No restoration.
