Japanese Ivory netsuke, Meiji Period.

A good Japanese ivory netsuke, Meiji Period (1868 - 1912). Well carved as a group of mythological figures, beneath a pine tree. A seated Samurai, pours drink from a gourd, before an expectant monkey. Hainu sits, whilst an Oni hides behind the tree. All upon a mound base.
Engraved signature on a red lacquer tablet to the base.

Condition: Stress crack to left hand of the monkey. Otherwise in excellent condition.
