Japanese bronze okimono of a recumbent tiger, Genryusai Seiya.

A fine Japanese bronze okimono of a tiger, Genryusai Seiya. Meiji Period. This is a particularly good example of Seiyas work, modelled as an imposing, recumbent tiger, having glass eyes, and patintated stripes. Extra care has been taken with the hand finishing of the detailed chiselled features, such as the hair, claws and teeth, as you will see from the images.
A substantially finer example of the work of this craftsman, than the standard typical examples usually found.
