Japanese Arita bowl, Genroku Period.


A fine Arita deep bowl, c. 1690, Genroku Period. Finely painted in underglaze blue, with a continuous band of insects flying amongst flowering plants, growing amongst rocks.
The bowl lacks its cover, but is still a wonderful decorative item, in unusually fine condition.

Height:  22.50 cm, 8.86"

Condition: Typical minor wear to the glaze, and insignificant firing faults. No damage. No restoration.
