Imperial Satsuma earthenware koro & cover.


A Japanese Imperial Satsuma earthenware koro, c. 1880, Meiji Period. Boldly painted in typical enamels, with dragons, above stylised waves, beneath a continuous band of pomegranates. The body applied with two dragon head handles, and standing upon three stub feet.
Having original, reticulated and silvered cover, with flowerhead finial.
Satsuma Mon and gilt signature to the base.

Condition: Typical minor wear to the gilding. Otherwise in perfect condition. No restoration.
