French porcelain ‘Begging Dog’ scent bottle, c. 1880.


A French porcelain scent bottle, c. 1880. Modelled after a Meissen original, as a begging spaniel, set upon a moulded and gilt scroll base. Painted with brown spots, and having a curled tail. The detachable head, set with gilt metal mounts.
Underglaze blue mark to the base.
Height - 7.6 cm, 3”.
Condition - Perfect. No damage. No restoration.
