Fine Worcester porcelain mug. ‘Long Elizas’. Scratch Cross Period. c. 1754.

An exceptionally fine Worcester porcelain mug, ‘Scratch Cross’ Period, c. 1754. The waisted mug, exquisitely painted in Chinese Yongzheng Period style, with Long Elizas, in famille rose enamels., standing before a table, and stands. A vase containing flowers is placed next to the seated ‘Eliza’. Having a grooved loop handle, and set upon a broad footrim, with a glazed recess.
‘Scratched’ line to the foot rim.
Height - 12 cm, 4 3/4”.
Condition - Perfect. No damage. No restoration.

The quality of painting of this pattern varies tremendously. This example is very finely executed, with particular attention paid to faces of the ladies, and the gilt work.

Medium: Porcelain.

Signed/Inscribed: Scratched line to the foot rim.
