Derby porcelain figure group, ‘Summer’, c. 1765.


A fine Derby porcelain group, c. 1765. Representing ‘Summer’ from the Four Seasons, the group beautifully modelled as a courting couple, in 18th Century attire. The man carries a sickle and wheat sheafs, whilst his companion carries flowers. A further sheaf of wheat, and flowers lay on the circular mound base.
Patch marks to the base.
Height - 16 cm, 6 2/8”.
Width - 8 cm, 3 1/8”.
Condition - Repair to girls right arm, and wheatsheaf. Otherwise in perfect condition.

Medium: Porcelain.
