A fine and large Coalport porcelain vase and cover, c. 1900. Painted by John Hugh Plant. The Exhibition quality vase finely painted with a view of Chatsworth House, within an elaborately gilded border, upon a cobalt blue ground, the reverse with a gilt coat of arms. The base having lion head handles, and set upon a circular pedestal base.
Having a domed cover, surmounted by a a gilt finial.
Signed - J.H. Plant. Titled ‘Chatsworth’ to the inside of the vase.
Printed factory marks to the base.
Height - 54.5 cm, 21 1/2”.
Width - 29.2 cm, 11 1/2”.
Condition - Restoration to body of the vase, and base of one handle. Professionally restored.
