Chinese Transitional jar, blue and white decoration. Shunzhi Period.


Chinese Transitional porcelain jar, Shunzhi Period (1644 -1661). Well painted in underglaze blue, with a continuous scene of flowering plants, beneath a collar of stylised waves. Having a short, slightly flaring neck, painted with lappets, above a broad band of peony.
A further band of lappet to the base, above an unglazed footrim.
Height - 21 cm, 8 2/8”.
Diameter - 20.5 cm, 8 1/8”.
Condition - Firing and firing cracks to the rim. No damage. No restoration. Please see images for detail.
