Chinese gilt bronze Green Tara. 17th Century.


A fine Chinese gilt bronze figure, late 17th / early 18th Century. Cast as Green Tara seated in lalitasana, and her right foot resting upon a lotus blossom. Her hands in varada, and vitarka mudra. She is dressed in a dhoti, with engraved scrollwork to the hem, whilst her jewellery is inset with hardstones. Set upon a double lotus base.
Height - 14.5 cm, 5 3/4”.
Width - 9.5 cm, 3 3/4”.
Condition - Some hardstones lacking. Typical minor wear to the gilding.
