Chinese 'Canton' enamel cup. Qianlong Period.


An amusing Chinese ' Canton' enamel cup, c. 1750, Qianlong Period. The quatrelobed cup well painted with a scene of two European gentleman relaxing in a garden - one drinking wine, the other smoking a pipe- whilst a third furtively sneaks away, having apparently stolen a jar. All within two copper rims.

Medium: Chinese enamel.

Depth:  4.50 cm, 1.77"

Condition: Small chips to the enamel, and some typical minor cracks. No restoration.
