Chelsea porcelain ecuille stand. Ornithological. Red Anchor Period.


A fine Chelsea porcelain ecuille stand, c. 1755. Beautifully hand painted in Meissen style, with studies of birds in branches, and a moth. Within the inner rim, painted with two further moths, and a caterpillar covering a firing fault at the rim.The outer rim, enamelled in brown.
Red anchor mark to th e reverse.
Condition - Perfect. No damage. No restoration.
Diameter - 18.6 cm, 7 3/8".
