Carved wood model of the Miyan Khan Chishti's Mosque,Ahmadabad,India


A good carved wood model of the Miyan Khan Chishti's Mosque, Ahmadabad, Gujarat, Western India, c. 1890. Highly detailed, having windows, with intricately carved screens.
The mosque was originally built c.1465, and this model depicts the building with complete minorets, whose tops are now missing from the building, due to earthquake damage. The mosque sustained further damage in the Gujarat earthquake of 2001.
Height - 32 cm, 12 5/8".
Width - 26.8 cm, 10 1/2".
Depth - 21.3 cm, 8 3/8".
Condition - Some typical, minor wear. Otherwise excellent. No repair.
