Cantonese porcelain cider jug & cover.

A fine Chinese porcelain ewer and cover, c. 1820, having double strap handles, with leaf terminals. Enamelled in Famille Rose style, with figures amongst auspicious objects, and a roundel containg a bird. The borders decorated with insects and flowers, upon a gilt ground. Similar decoration to the cover, which is surmounted by a gilt Shishi dog finial.

Condition: Typical minor wear to the enamel and the gilding.
