Bretby Terracotta Bust of a Bull Dog, circa 1890

A large Bretby pottery bust of a bull dog, circa 1890. The finely potted bust, painted in naturalistic style, and having inset glass eyes. He is wearing a studded collar, which has a nameplate inscribed ‘Tom Crossley, Lyn Dene, Huddersfield’.
Pierced to the reverse for suspension on a wall.
Impressed factory marks to the reverse.
Measures: Height - 17.5 cm, 6 7/8”.
Width - 22 cm, 8 5/8”.
Depth - 25 cm, 9 7/8”.
Condition - Chip to one stud - please see images for detail.
