Japanese Okimono of a Fisherman. Meiji Period.

A good Japanese Ivory and boxwood okimono, Meiji Period. Finely carved as a fisherman, seated upon a boxwood bench. He holds a bamboo fishing rod, with which he has caught an eel; to has side he carries a basket and a tobacco pouch. His left foot rests upon a box with two drawers.
