A fine ivory cased combined compass and sundial (Pantochronometer), Charles Essex & Co., London, c. 1825. The dial drawn with divisions of the compass, and inscribed ‘C. Essex & Co, London, Entered at Stationers Hall’, within a gilt metal mount. Protected by the original glass dome, which sits within the base of the ivory case, which in turn, has a domed screw top ivory cover.
Diameter – 5.5 cm, 2 1/8”.
Height – 2.5 cm, 1”.
Condition – Excellent, original condition. No damage. No repair.
