An exquisite Japanese Satsuma earthenware reticulated vase, painted by Ryokuzan, 薩摩 緑山. Meiji Period. The body cut with an irregular, continuous panel of simulated basket weave, and boldly painted with flowering plants. The neck decorated with a textile motif, beneath a gilt rim.
Gilt mark of Ryokuzan, 薩摩 緑山, to the base.
Height – 11.5 cm, 4 1/2”.
Condition – Perfect condition. No damage. No restoration.
