A Japanese Arita porcelain apothecary bottle, or Gallipot, c. 1690. The globular shaped bottle, finely enamelled in Holland, c. 1720, in the Kakiemon taste, with exotic birds and insects, in gardens, before fences and flowering plants. Beneath a swagged textile design, tied with tassels. The moulded neck painted with stylised flowers.
Height – 21 cm, 8 2/8”.
Diameter – 15 cm, 5 7/8”.
Condition – Chip to rim of neck. Typical minor wear to the enamel. Otherwise in perfect condition. No restoration.
