A Japanese Satsuma bowl, signed by Eizan. Meiji Period (1868-1912). The petal moulded bowl densely painted in a ‘Millefleur’ pattern, with numerous flowerheads, and large raised enamel chrysanthemums, heightened with gilt.
Signed 英山造 – Eizan-zo and Satsuma Mon within elaborate floral panel.
Diameter – 12.2 cm, 3/4”.
Height – 5.5 cm, 2 1/8”.
Condition – Typical minor wear to the gilding. Otherwise perfect. No restoration.
