A Chinese porcelain teapot, c. 1700. Kang Hsi Period. The small, melon shaped teapot, painted in the Chinese Imari taste, with tulips, in underglaze blue, heightened in iron red enamel; beneath a Ruyi head border Having a short spout, and simple loop handle. The moulded cover similarly decorated, and having a pierced, bud finial.
Possibly made fir the Turkish market.
Height – 10.5 cm, 4 1/8″.
Width – 14 cm, 5 1/2″.
Condition – Chip to inner flange of the cover. Otherwise perfect condition. NO restoration.
