Imperial Satsuma koro and cover. Meiji Period.

A Japanese Imperial Satsuma earthenware koro and cover, Meiji Period (1868-1912). The globular body supported by three seated Shishi, and enamelled with scenes of egrets in a stylised river landscape, beneath a lappet border. The cover surmounted by a Shishi dog finial.
Signed Gyokuzan.
Height – 15 cm, 5 7/8″.
Condition – Repair to tip of the finial tail. Otherwise in perfect condition.
