A good Indian Sadeli ware casket, c. 1870. The box decorated in complex geometric designs, within ivory borders. The lid inset with an ivory panel, painted with views of the Qutb Minar, and guards at the Jumma Mosjid, Delhi, upon a gilt scrollwork ground. Set behind glass, within a silver frame.
The lid opening to reveal a compartmentalised interior.
Standing upon four ivory feet.
Height – 7 cm, 2 3/4″.
Width – 15.2 cm, 6″.
Depth – 10.3 cm, 4 1/8″.
Condition – Typical minor age related wear. Otherwise in excellent condition. No repair.
