An English porcelain plate, c. 1840. Well painted to the centre with a view of Edinburgh Castle, from the Grassmarket. The border painted with Loch scenes, within oval panels, within elaborate floral scroll borders. The plate having moulded scroll handle, heightened in gilt.
Titled to the reverse ‘ Edinburgh Castle’, and pattern number ‘1198’.
Diameter – 24.2 cm, 9 1/2″.
Condition – Perfect. No damage. No restoration.
