A fine large Japanese bronze Okimono of an eagle, by Masatsune.c. 1900, Meiji Period. The eagle with its wings spread is perched upon its original gnarled wood stand. His details finely cast, and finished in gilt & shakudo to the beak, eyes & talons.
Signed Masatsune to an inset silver tablet beneath the eagle.

A particularly dramatic work of art, of exceptionally high quality craftsmanship, which was a feature of the Meiji Period of Japanese art.
