A very rare Indiam miniature on ivory, relating to the Indian Mutiny, and the role played by the South Gloucestershire 61st Regiment. Finely painted with a bedraggled Union Jack, crossed with the colours of the South Gloucestershire 61st Regiment. This particular standard carrying the names of the campaigns involving the ‘Glorious Glosters’, in minute details, including the Seige of Delhi, in 1857.
Mounted behind glass, in an ebony easel frame, ornately carved with floral scroll. Brass ring for suspension.
